Dauntless Theatre is a newly formed company based in Newcastle. They are delighted to be performing a ‘reduced company’ HMS Pinafore in Buxton where they are making their debut. The cast and reduced orchestra is comprised of young people (aged 18-25) from local Universities. The production will not be a traditional one, in that the setting will be updated (to the 1940’s) and the staging, though inspired by the old D’Oyly Carte, will accordingly be innovative and fresh. Dauntless have done this vey deliberately in order to encourage a new audience of students and other local young people to perform and enjoy Gilbert and Sullivan.
