Patience – The D’Oyly Carte Opera Company 1951 CD

Issued in 1952 this recording features an early appearance from Peter Pratt (Major) who would take over from Martyn Green as principal comedian. It is unique in that two tenors sing various elements of the same part - the Duke of Dunstable (Leonard Osbourne AND Neville Griffiths) and it includes a final appearance from Martyn Green (Bunthorne) and Darrell Fancourt (Colonel Calverley). Other principals include Alan Styler; Ann Drummond-Grant; Ella Halman and Margaret Mitchell. Isidore Godfrey conducts.
