It is really good to see co-operation between University groups and local amateur societies. After all it is the students who will ultimately carry the torch for G&S in the future. York University do exactly that – co-operate with the local York amateur society. They are regular performers in UNIFest. You could say they were a little like the Duke of Plaza Toro. They do not follow fashion they lead it! This afternoon they have promised us a non-traditional Mikado – don’t miss it!

Imagine making a 15,000km round trip to perform one presentation of “The Gondoliers” at the International G&S Festival. After two years of planning, 70 members and friends of the Fraser Valley Stage group will be spending a week in Harrogate for this years Silver Jubilee Festival.
This will be their third visit to the Festival and their 30th year in bringing musical theatre to the Lower Mainland of British Colombia.
