The preparation of the first Pro-Am production of Haddon Hall in more than a hundred years deserves special recognition. This morning it gets it! Stephen Turnbull, Secretary of the Sir Arthur Sullivan Society paints a historical background and Martin Yates, Chairman of the society discuses the music and the score of the piece which certainly has deserved much more attention.

This afternoon we welcome back LOpSoc, the award-winning University of Southampton Light Opera Society. LOpSoc are the current UNIFest champions and brought an outstanding production of The Mikado to the 2017 Festival. Patience will be cracker and one show not be missed in 2018!

SavoyNet Performing Group have presented a full length show at the Festival every year since 1999 and rehearse in Harrogate for a full week prior to their single performance. In 2014 SavoyNet completed the full 14 opera canon with a production of Thespis – the only group to have done so at the Festival. This year’s cast is expected to fly in to the UK from all around the world for their annual reunion and a production of Patience.
