Anthony Thompson has been a member of the Festival Orchestra for over a decade as principal trumpet. Away from the theatre Anthony is an active member of his local Salvation Army and today he will be giving us an illustrated talk on the history of the trumpet from the time of the bible to modern day. He will play various incarnations of the instrument including a 19th century cornet that would have been the type used by Sullivan.
