Description
Known familiarly as NUGSS, this is one of the oldest student societies in the University, established in 1952. They made their debut last year and we are delighted to welcome them back with the performance of Ruddigore. Each year the society perform one of the 14 G&S operas during the spring term and in the summer they mount a smaller production – often an original libretto set to music by Sullivan and other composers of the Victorian and Edwardian period. This is very much a social society which meets regularly together and goes out of its way to support local groups and professional productions.
